So I caved and joined this Pintrest website a few weeks ago

Follow Me on Pinterest

Basically it’s visual bulletin boards you can organize to keep track of things you find online that you like. If you add the “pin it” button to your browser you can pin something to a board you have from any website and then go back and find it later. But it’s also social so you can see things your friends like as well.  I am actually waiting for their iPhone app to work better because I do a lot of my web searching on my phone when I’m riding the bus or waiting in line somewhere. The last time I tried it, it just sort of kept crashing so hopefully they’ll release an update soon.

Anyway you can check out more crap I like by clicking the “follow me” button above.

Occupy My Thoughts

Here’s the thing, I haven’t written about the Occupy movement yet because I don’t really know what it is they want. Some of them don’t even know what they want. I think we ALL want something different. This much is clear. I think we ALL know that the world was broken before Obama took over and whatever. If you’re going to disagree with me about that, well… you’ve got your head in the sand. This recession started long before that and the practices that at least some of the Occupiers are protesting against have been in place for a long time.

Here’s what I don’t get. Why isn’t every single American citizen freaking FURIOUS at the way these people are being treated?

Oh they’re dirty, they need to get jobs, they’re spoiled, whaa whaa whaaa.

People said the same shit about people protesting Vietnam. People said the same shit about our founding fathers except it was probably more “They need to pay some more taxes to a bullshit government who doesn’t care about them.”

Pay attention. IT DOESN’T MATTER WHAT THESE PEOPLE WANT. They have the RIGHT to WANT whatever the hell they want. Be it marriage equality, the banks to step up and admit they screwed us all, a cheeseburger, to have the student loan debt forgiven, to have the right to bust their asses 10 hours a day for basically nothing in wages, a cookie, they have the right under our country’s Constitution to do that. They are using their rights of free speech, their freedom of assembly, their AMERICAN rights to critique what’s going on around them and ask for a change.

I can’t believe how many people want to just dismiss what’s going on. Are we that desensitized? Are we that selfish that we can just watch groups of students, who by the way are the future leaders of our country when all these old white men finally bite it, sit around and get pepper sprayed, arrested, and be generally treated with disrespect for doing exactly what our country is founded on?

You may not agree with what OWS is doing but they’re JUST AS AMERICAN as all the troop we’ve sent to fight pointless wars elsewhere over oil and a vendetta. They may not be facing certain death but they are at least using their rights and maybe they’re using them on your behalf because you’re too afraid to watch what’s going on and think of what it means.

I don’t see this as a fad or something going away or something to make fun of. Agree with this movement or not, it’s the most American thing to happen in a good long time and I welcome it. As a member of the media my job is to make sure you get heard. I may not agree with what you have to say but I am bound to give you free and equal time to say it and as an American I am honor bound to want to protect that right. I don’t see how so many people are losing focus of this fact. Free speech is the most important part of our society. The freedom to protest things that aren’t working is as well. These OWS people need our support, not our contempt.

You may not agree with the movement, but how are you going to feel when you finally grown a pair and decide to protest something and you get unjustly attacked by police for using your Constitutional rights as an American citizen?  Are you going to be on “the man’s” side then?

This is the first year in my entire life I will not be spending Thanksgiving with my family. I know, whaaaaa you big baby, suck it up, most Grown Folks don’t spend every holiday with their family. So I guess I’ve been trying to downplay how much this totally sucks.

I actually have no idea what we’re doing. I thought about making dinner but most of my friends who are also not going home already have plans. Maybe I’ll just wake up early on Thursday morning, see Hello Kitty on the TV and go back to bed. Maybe I’ll be so tired of Thanksgiving food after this weekend of parties I won’t even care on Thursday. Maybe I’ll cook a million things that I’ll end up throwing out. Maybe I’ll go to the go to there for their Thanksgiving pot luck. Maybe…

music gossip

Facebook was a gossip bomb yesterday if you ever followed the band Orgy.

So don’t freak out on me, but I decided to put a band together and do the Orgy thing again. I’m not saying I wouldn’t consider playing with the all original line-up at some point, and there has been correspondence between the original members, and myself. This situation is a good thing, and not intended to piss anyone off or anything. I have spoken to Amir, and Bobby about the situation, and neither seemed to be angry in any way. Bobby is making movies, and Amir and Ry are doing JK. I am friends with all of the OG cast, so please don’t trip. I will keep everyone posted as i know more. Thanks for being UNDERSTANDING….. :))

So yeah that happened. From what was said by others in the band, this is not the case. It got pretty strange to read since I used to run around with these guys and still have contact with Ryan and Amir through Julien-K and what have you. I don’t really understand the point of carrying on as Orgy without the rest of the band. No disrespect to Jay or anything, I just don’t get it. Why not form a new project? Or meet the concessions made by the original members in order to tour as Orgy again?

More as this develops….
